ABOUT US
Who We Are
Transformative Commitment
JFS is a family-owned group founded on Mozambique Island in 1897. Its history is intertwined with the history of the country itself and is deeply rooted in the values of its founder, João Ferreira dos Santos, the great-grandfather of the current owners. JFS has always operated in rural areas, in partnership with farmers and local communities. It survived the moment of independence in 1975 and the difficult 16 years of civil war that lasted until 1992, never interrupting its operations, including agricultural and industrial activities, some of them in conflict zones. JFS is respected for its resilience, integrity, and ability to operate in adverse rural contexts, in close collaboration with a large number of smallholder farmers.
